As spotted by Android Authority , the move means these TVs are no longer reliant on Samsung 's own Smart View technology for beaming content to the
big screen. It gives users much more flexibility, particularly those without Galaxy phones. We had previously heard that Google Cast would be supported on all the new Samsung TVs for 2026, through the built in One UI Tizen software models such as the Samsung S99H/S95H , for example and now we know older

Exactly which older TVs are eligible isn't quite clear, but updates are popping up all over the web: over on Reddit one user is reporting that their Samsung S90D from 2024 has now got the functionality. However, a full rollout is likely to take a while. Google Cast for all OneUI 9 for Samsung TV adds Google cast support! from r/oneui We're hoping that all of Samsung's TVs launched over the last couple of years or so get the Google Cast feature. One of its advantages is how lightweight and simple it is, so there shouldn't be issues in terms of hardware capabilities.
As reported by FlatpanelsHD , Tizen update v2115 is the one to look out for. The article says the rollout is now "confirmed" for 2024, 2025, and 2026 models, though it doesn't mention TVs from 2023, which are referred to by Android Authority.
Google Cast is supported natively by the Google TV platform (used by manufacturers such as Sony ), and by the webOS software that LG develops. It all means that Chromecast dongles aren't required though you can still get the Google TV Streamer , of course.
