I got an email today from Plex to let me know about an upcoming price increase for the Lifetime Plex Pass... This change takes effect on July 1, 2026 and
the price will go from the current $250 to $750.

Yep, that's a pretty significant change. Current Lifetime members are not affected, and monthly/annual subscription pricing will not be changing.

If you've been thinking about getting the Lifetime Pass, probably a good idea to do it soon... ;-)

One of the best lifetime licenses I bought, years ago already. I pay some russian 5 EUR per month and I get everything from Netflix, Apple, Prime, Disney etc etc on my Plex :P.

That's why I use Jellyfin...

I have looked at Jellyfin, and ran it for a short time, but I don't like
the interface as much as the Plex one. It just doesn't look as
"polished" or professional. I have a buddy that swears by it though,
and says it can be tweaked to look different than the default. Might
try it again one day.

Yeah I used to do that too-- and keeping up all the Arrs etc etc. Rooting out the cause when shit stopped working taking up time.

I already have to many hobbys. For 5 EUR a month I save hours of tweaking. Thats worth it multiple times ;).
