• New System?

From Mike Dippel@954:895/2 to All on Sunday, January 05, 2025 14:58:01
I am currently trying out the latest version of Synchronet on a test server. If it works for me, I may start a 3rd system.

I will have to take some time later this week to make sure it is configured properly. It will run Synchronet. I need to figure out how to create the areas.bbs file. I have all of the message areas listed for HobbyNet, but I had to manually create the areas.bbs file and it is currently empty.

Not sure if this is what is keeping me from connecting, but I will work on it.

A missing AREAS.BBS file won't stop you from being able to connect to
anything. It may cause you not to be able to toss mail, although I think
the newer versions of synchronet/sbbsecho don't require an AREAS.BBS so
long as you have the "new" alternative set up correctly.

I have not tried the "new" method, so I cannot be so helpful there.
