As a pet pig owner, I was not aware of this day, I shall now celebrate it every
year going forward and make sure I bring Mr. Clyde Piggles a pup cup from the
coffee shop and a pumpkin and carrot cake, his favorite meals.

That is a good question. Do they celebrate them as animals or as food? :D

Are you still watching the Best Medicine shows?
This week was 'interesting' when his father (parents) dropped
in for a visit.. B)

Yes, I am and yes, it was. It was interesting to see Martin Clunes

>British one. :D
And I guess he's lost some weight in recent years. For the first few
minutes I was wondering if they hadn't found a look-alike just for
fun but, as it went on, I became more sure it was him.
Too bad they didn't have Caroline Catz playing his wife just for
fun, but she's in another show this year and I guess she looks
too young for that part in the Best Med. show..

Yeah, I was sure it was him, although it was more the voice that threw me>off. ;)

Yeah but she probably does look too young. What show is she in now?
Yeah but she probably does look too young. What show is she in now?
I caught an episode of a show where she was a detective and I assumed
it was new but, looking online at her history, I'm thinking it was
more likely a re-broadcast of an older show called Murder in Suburbia
made in 2004/2005, 12 episodes.
She is 56 now which probably makes her too young to play Dr Best's
mother, although with the right makeup it could probably be done..

Yeah, I have seen that one. IIRC, she was filming it at the same time she>was filming Doc Martin. She also played a detective in a show called,

Yeah, I think that would've been too young. I doubt someone my age would>have a child as old as he seems to be.
Have you seen this week's episode yet?

Yeah, that is the one. It used two story devices from the original... the>green arsenic wallpaper and the spleen.
The wallpaper story was significantly different... the original featured a>lady who was mostly bed-ridden (and who took Doc hostage during one of her

Overall, it was a pretty good and funny episode.

I may have watched it more recently. I got in the habit of watching the>reruns more than once, and some of my favorite episodes I have mave seen 5
Yeah, the spleen story was for sure from the first season... it may have>been the first season finale. The wallpaper story, IIRC, was from later in

It's a different enough situation/location that it's pretty easy
to just forget about the original series. I found the same thing
with the American remakes of several other shows like the British
show Robin's Nest which was remade as Three's Company as well as
others like All in the Family (from Till death do us Part) and
Too Close for Comfort (from Keep it in the Family)..

I didn't realize that Three's Company and Too Close for Comfort were>derived from British shows. They probably didn't air here, for one.

That was quite a while back too. Too Close.. 1980 to 1987 was later
renamed The Ted Knight Show.. Three's Comany (1976 to 1984) played
a big part in introducing John Ritter and Suzanne Somers into fame.
There's also a show called Ghosts that started in Britain but it's
a little silly so I didn't mention it.. and just the other night I
found out a new show I rather like called High Potential is an
American remake of a French/Belgian TV series with a similar name
(in French) - Haut Potentiel Intellectual..
