I used to have a pair of rollerblades that I got as a gift when I was 15 or 16. I used to sometimes go outside to use them on the sidewalk on my block in the evening/night (when few people could see me in case I fall down). I thought it was fun, and would have been fun if I used them more. I thought they were a little uncomfortable though, and eventually I stopped and I got rid of those at some point. A couple weeks ago, I was thinking it would be fun to try rollerblading again, and I decided to buy a pair of what look like good adult rollerblades (for beginners), as well as shoulder & knee pads and a helmet. I hvaen't tried them yet (I caught a cold right when I bought them), but I'm looking forward to giving them a try. I know there are skate parks in my area, and I've also been curious if there are still any rollerskating rinks in my area. I also live in an apartment complex, so to start out I suppose I could skate around in my apartment complex (being careful for cars, of course).
Rollerblading could also help me lose weight, which would be benficial for my diabetes and overall health.
These are the ones I decided to buy (I'm not crazy about the red accent colors, but this was the one in my chosen size):
