    Wake up early in the morning (b/w 5 AM to 6 AM), do 20 push-ups, 20 squats & 5 min
    plank. This will improve your stamina and give your body a perfect shape.

    Never ever have a HOT beverage (tea, coffee, and hot chocolate) on an empty stomach
    as it can cause gas trouble instead have a Luke-warm lime water, this will stimulate
    gastrointestinal tract.

    Try including nuts & dry fruits in your breakfast as it will give you various nutritional
    benefits required for the day which fights different diseases or illness.

    Read an article or blog (as per your area of interest) written by well known writer. This
    will give you knowledge and improves your vocabulary.

    In the night, just recollect what you had done for the day and focus on the area of
    improvement and this very particular habit will boost all other habits and you will have a
    very good life.

    Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day and get 8 hours of sleep

    Give up sugar. The difference in your mental clarity and health will be phenomenal.

    Start taking time for yourself, even if it is just a 15 minute walk. Take deep breaths and
    appreciate the things around you.

    BE nice! if you see someone who looks down, complement them on something� Their
    shoes, their hair anything; but be genuine about it. Smile at people and say good
    morning, yes it sounds corny, but you will feel good and so will the people you interact
    with. Say please and thank you more often.

    Save. Even a few dollars a day: put it in a savings account. Don�t touch it! Your future
    self will thank you.

    Since I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, I've significantly cut down on sugar consumption. I haven't been eating candies/sweets much anymore, except just a little occasionally (not very often). And I've found a company called Points that makes low glycemic dark chocolate candies similar to M&Ms & peanut M&Ms. They don't taste quite as chocolatey as regular M&Ms, but they're not bad.

    I think reducing/eliminating the sugar intake probably helped lower my A1C.

    Eliminating sugars definitely helps. I think the body needs some sugar, so my wife buys
    me Russell Stover sugar free dark caramel mini bites. It contains artificial flavor so it
    only gives you artificial diabetes <g> They taste great by the way. My brain doesn't
    know the difference.

    :) I like the Russel Stover sugar-free candies. It seems they have a side-effect of causing diarrhea though.. And my wife says they still increase her blood sugar (I'm not sure if they do the same to me).
