Since I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, I've significantly cut down on sugar consumption. I haven't been eating candies/sweets much anymore, except just a little occasionally (not very often). And I've found a company called Points that makes low glycemic dark chocolate candies similar to M&Ms & peanut
M&Ms. They don't taste quite as chocolatey as regular M&Ms, but they're not bad.
I think reducing/eliminating the sugar intake probably helped lower my A1C.
