Saw Palmetto-cheap, pretty safe, not very effective
Alpha Blockers-like Doxazosin, relax the muscles around the bladder, for less symptoms
Antiandrogens-like finasteride or dutasteride, do reduce the size and metabolic activity
of the prostate, don�t shrink things a lot but do help with symptoms.
Surgical procedures don�t shrink things, they destroy things creating more room: TURP
(most effective, most side effects), Green Laser, Cryotherapy, Urolift.
Each has its place and its adherents. If you�re going to have something like this done, go
to the local guy who has the most experience.
