Eating THC is different from smoking/vaping or sublingual tinctures/infusions in several
ways. What you will notice first is the delay in the effect. Almost nothing happens before
the first 45 minutes to an hour with the gummies. But the effect lasts longer due to your
liver converting THC to 11 hydroxy THC which is a more potent compound.

Consequently, eating THC will get you higher than smoking the same amount. If you
consume fatty foods with your gummy, you will increase THC and increase the effect.
The other obvious difference is, at least compared to smoking, you're not inhaling all
manner of combustion byproducts and very hot inflammatory gases.

So, gummies are slower, last longer and are more potent for the same quantity of THC.

The big potential problem with gummies or any other edible is accidental overconsumption. THC overdose happens two ways.

The delay in feeling the full effect can be as much as 2 or even 3 hours. Impatient or
inexperienced users may incorrectly assume they have "peaked" before reaching the full
    effect.

This miscalculation often results in taking more. Mistake. The combined dosages, after
reaching full effect, can be very unpleasant. The good news is that, although miserable,
a THC overdose is nonlethal. But you have to ride it out. There is no antidote.

The other common path to an OD on edibles is initial dosage.

With gummies, the issue is primarily inexperience.

Not knowing your tolerance combined with the wide range of potencies available in
gummies can result in taking too much.

For example, i get very pleasantly high on less than 2 mg. My wife, who has very little
experience with THC and is nearly half my weight can eat a 5 mg gummy and wonder if
    she's getting high.

5 mg would get me super buzzed.

There are gummies that contain 25 mg or more. Check the actual lab results for the
batch you have. The content can vary significantly both above and below what is claimed
on the package. Starting low and slow is the name of the game.
