    Nice, not sure how I missed this. Love the Pet Shop Boys. Information Society's last album is pretty great, too, if you haven't heard it.

    There was a contemporary named Zuse in Germany who, because of the War, hadn't heard of Turing. He managed to come up with some pretty interesting computer equipment. At least one of them was, ironically, "Turing complete." See the Z3 and Z4 for details.
