    I am phasing out my Playstation fandom. I might buy some of the stuff I bought digitally on the
    Nintendo Switch instead.

    With their history of movie deletion, one wonders why anyone would trust them not to eventually delete the games they have paid for also.

    I suspect Sony is targetting wide demographics, rather than the people who pays attention to this stuff. The number of people who follows game news is actually very reduced.

    It might be hard to stomach for "card carrying" gamers, but most people who are into videogames are very casual about the hobby and they are not reading what is going on. They buy 3 games per year and have some sporadic fun every now and then. The largest mass of players is not buying 4 games per year, anybody buying more than that is in an overwhelming minority.

    If your investment in a console generation is under 900 bucks in 6 years then you are unlikely to care as much as somebody who regards gaming as an elevated form or culture or as a part of his identity.
