• General Weirdness trying to get added to FSXNET

From nblade@21:1/161 to All on Tuesday, May 05, 2026 00:16:41
I have tried to apply to FSXNET for my BBS. I have sent Netmails out and I am not sure if something went wrong. I have even tried to get on Fidonet and sent a message to the NC for the net that I was trying to join. It's been a few weeks and I haven't heard anything from anyone. I have even attempted to try to send SysOps from a few random boards and have gotten no response.

So I am wonder if there is something I can check. I have tried to check the mutil logs and such and I see nothing.

So here is where it get's really weird. I tried to post from my BBS to this message group and I can see the messages go out with no errors. However I
don't seem them go out to other boards. It's like I never sent them.

So I am wondering if there is way to really better troubleshoot this? I mean
I almost feel like I been blacklisted or something but I am not sure why. It
is interesting that I am getting inbound traffic when I poll the Node.

So again anthing anyone can suggest, when be appreicated. Thank

Have you tried watching the Mystic Guy videos on YouTube? They're a bit old, now, but they should get you through setting up FSXnet, and get you setup with the 21:1/999 temp address, where you'll change it when you get your own address.

    Howdy,

I have tried to apply to FSXNET for my BBS. I have sent Netmails out and I am not sure if something went wrong. I have even tried to get on Fidonet and sent a message to the NC for the net that I was trying to join. It's been a few weeks and I haven't heard anything from anyone. Your message doesnt provide any specifics, so its hard to provide help.

But if you are wanting to connect to FSXNET, you can login to hub 3 at https://clrghouz.bbs.dege.au and set yourself up.

If your BBS is there, claim it and once you've done that let me know and I'll assigned you an address.

If you get stuck, post a message in FSX_NET and I'll help you out.

Of course this is the third time I have tried to setup a BBS with Mystic. The first two time I was able to get on FSXNET wtihout issue. Right now I can poll the Hub and get messages down from the two message Bases including this one that you are allowed to get with that setup. I was able to send a few messages to those bases when I first set it up this time but now those message seem to go out but do not end up anywhere.

    Any other ideas?

It may be that your messages are getting through and Avon hasn't had a
chance to check on things. He's been apologetic on the 'net about real
life getting in the way recently - he's was moving, last I heard. If
you sent a proper netmail as /9999 and your logs show that the message
wen through, that should be enough.

I suspect that is part of it. The part I can not explain is why for a while I was able to post from my BBS to this very message base and it would show up on other BBSs. Now, If I post on my board to the message base they do not show up. It as if they are being blocked or filtered. Which might very well be the case but I am unsure.
