    A cloudy day with rain clearing through the morning followed by drier but cold conditions developing. Early rain and drizzle will affect most areas, heaviest in western districts where moderate falls are possible before dawn. Cloud will remain extensive throughout with fog patches on hills and coasts during the morning hours. Temperatures will struggle, reaching only 6-9?C in most places with values falling during the afternoon, coldest in western coastal areas. Fresh to strong west-northwest winds will develop, gusting 40-50 kph across exposed areas.

    Conditions will feel notably raw due to the combination of wind, low cloud and dampness. The afternoon will see rain becoming lighter and more scattered, though drizzle will persist in places. Eastern inland areas may see brief brighter intervals developing late in the day. Wind chill will be significant, making it feel several degrees colder than actual temperatures, particularly along western coasts where gusts could reach 55 kph.
