    That is why I was trying to maybe switch to Talisman in the future.

    Obviously, use whatever makes you happy, and keeps you interested in the hobby. I think some softwares leave it to the person reading the messages' software in regards to how the messages are displayed, and some softwares don't, while hard wrapping at 78-80 columns.

    For the record, the above is what your message looks like when you quote and add color codes into it. (I changed the pipes to exclamation marks so you would see the actual text that's being added, instead of the colors).

    As it's for a display thing on the BBS itself, WWIV should probably strip the color codes from the messages before exporting them outside of the local machine.

    It seems when I post a reply on my winserver bbs the word wrap just becomes a hot mess when replying to a synchronet
    based bbs.

    Synchronet's QWK packet support includes optional word-wrapping, if a user (or QWKnet node) needs it:
    [W] Word-wrap Message Text : Yes

    So, if getting your feed via QWK is an option, that could be a solution.
