From Greyhawk@21:2/166 to All on Saturday, October 10, 2026 22:56:00
    Greetings all

So "back in the day" when my old board was up, I looked forward to the file echos that brought new doors, apps and pics to my board. This time around, I haven't seen anything other that nodelists and info files. Is there no interest for this anymore? Has it gotten complicated? or does everyone want to do their own thing and not see the same files on every board? I'm generally curious.

And part of the reason I'm asking is there is a good gaming newsletter being published monthly called Video Game Generations Newsletter (VGGN) put out by Mike Snyder author of the Lunatix BBS door, among others. I think it's a good publication and would like to see his circulation grow. Mike has given me permission to offer the pdf on my board, and let it be distributed to other BBS's. So I would like to hatch this out on maybe the FSX_TEXT echo, and maybe on another MSG network that would like it.

    Comments welcome, education also.

A great example. I did log in and download each of these and added them to my file areas. But it would be great if these were hatched into one of the file echos available on several nets so that they, and their updated versions got out to the subscribed boards. Fully automated, with DIZ!

I gave them all to Avon's BBS and said send 'em out. Still nothing.

Yeah, My Win32 stuff is some me, some AI assisted, the DOS stuff is all me. Minus Draw32 ... I think the only AI in that was the ANSI to PNG converter, but tha was also like 10+ years of coding on it.

If you drop them all in to clrghouz's inbound, I'll hatch them out...

As I understand it, Paul's been a bit distracted lately and is still catching up. Can't you hatch the files into FSX_DOOR or FSX_UTLS yourself? I mean, I'm sure you have the technical chops to do it, but is there a procedure that it has to go through Avon or another RC to hatch files? I've missed enough history between my times that many changes haven't hit my braincells yet (and too many other things have <g>)

I'd be curious to check this out, where can I find it? I don't currently carry file echos so if it's somewhere on the web, that'd be great for me for now.

No there isnt a website hatch option (its on the todo list).

I was talking about sending them to me via BINKP.

You could also send them to my BBS, since we are connected via metronet and I can pick them up from there if that's easier.

One day I'm going to move Metronet into clrghouz (since it makes things easier for me for the BBS)...
