    Heading out of Vinita, Oklahoma eastbound on US 60, there is (2023) a pink flamingo out in front of a business. The flamingo has a saddle on it. ;)

    I missed what the business was, so I am not sure if that is an Oklahoma
    thing (like pigs in northern Kentucky or horses in Louisville or
    Lexington), a Vinita thing, or what it signifies. ;)

    Yeah, that's a good question.

    For me, I know the University of Wisconsin-Madison has a fundraiser that puts plastic pink flamingos on a certain place in campus, and I think that grew out of a prank that people did at some point.

    Because it is a silly-looking bird. That, obviously, has no other connection to Wisconsin, outside of zoos.
