I don't know about this 'SafeSpace' business, but I've certainly found BSky to have a better signal-to-noise ratio than Twitter.
Similar on Mastodon/Fediverse.
Twitter is still a vaguely useful source of commentary on general interest/current affair type discussion, The community notes feature has helped immensely with the quality of information that propagates there.
For niche interest discussions, BSky and Mastodon are less noisy, and don't try so corral you towards the algorithm-generated feed, over a chronological list of posts from people you follow.
The true cesspool is Instagram's "Threads" app, overflowing with low quality copy-pasted rage-bait/engagement-farming nonsense. Almost like its algorithm celebrates mediocrity! "Someone explain to me why people reverse in to parking spots!" is not front page material, not the first time, not the 99th time today.
