I feel like people can do what they want with their pizza, but personally I don't put condiments on my pizza. When I first noticed & heard about people dipping their pizza in things like ranch dressing, melted garlic butter, etc., I thought it was a little weird, since I'd never done that and hadn't heard about people doing that before..

I like pineapple on pizza though, and some people say they think that's a crime against humanity..

I've seen it called that before, but it's not very common around here. Most of the time it's called supreme, unless restaurants try to put their own spin on whatever they want to name it to suit their menu better.

The best way I can think to describe salad cream is this:

You know how you have mayonnaise in a jar and it's good... then you have mayonnaise in the sachets which is a bit like real mayonnaise but tastes more vinegar-ey and nasty... well if you continue that trend a bit further you get salad cream.

    Hi, UG.

Next trip I will buy some store brand salad cream and maybe some Robinsons Relish.

I imagine off-brand salad cream is pretty variable - most people stick to Heinz for sauces (particularly ketchup) even if they aren't normally fussy about brands.

I'm not sure I've ever seen Robinsons relish? Google seems to be struggling a bit too, it seems to rather point me at Robinson's squash (cordial type drink if that word doesn't travel well) or Henderson's relish which seems to be some kind of Worcestershire sauce. Both are fairly typical Brit food that I don't remember seeing anywhere outside the UK or holiday resorts with a lot of Brits.

I bought me some Maramite in my luggage last month and a box of wheatabix.

Heha - when you've lived in a country all your life you don't realise what weird things you have that are not universal across the world. I was vaguely aware that Marmite was mostly a UK thing, though the Australians have Vegemite which seems to be the same. I always assumed that Weetabix was a global thing, though.

Yeah, I'm from the US, and until recently, I thought Miracle Whip was fairly common around the world, but it turns out it's mainly a North American (US & Canada) thing. I posted something about Miracle Whip online and some people from the UK said they thought it sounded like it could be whipped cream or something (with some commenting they thought it would be common for Americans to put whipped cream on anything, which isn't true)..

For those unfamiliar, Miracle Whip is made by Kraft Foods and is very similar to mayonnaise, but it has a sweeter taste:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracle_Whip

I usually use it on sandwiches (like mayonnaise) and in tuna salad. And apparently there are a lot of people in the US who don't like Miracle Whip (which was also news to me; I didn't realize it was such a disliked condiment).

    dunk their cookies in mayonnaise?

When I came home from Germany, I would dunk my french fries in mayonnaise and it freaked people out, until they tried it.

On a related note, our friend was telling us on the weekend that her
son had gone to Subway and bought some cookies that came with a caramel dip. They informed him they'd run out of caramel and asked if he'd like some mayonnaise instead.

Does that mean that there's some godforsaken backwoods part of this
country where people marry their cousins from the holler down yonder and
    dunk their cookies in mayonnaise?

IIRC, Bob is in the UK so it would be the backwoods of *that* country, not ours. :D

If I had to guess, mayo and other sandwich condiments were probably all
    they had available.
