Currently at work, I've been working on a couple tasks that deal with building Windows installers. They're using WiX Toolset, which I've used before, but I've found WiX can be fairly complicated, and there aren't many examples online. But not only that, the company I work for has a couple of in-house software tools they're using on top of that, for things like updating the WiX project files to change/insert the version number (which generates a new .wxs file), and other things. I've been having to figure out the build configuration at work, because people of past employees leaving the company, and my co-workers on my team don't know much in-depth about how it's all set up..

For one of my tasks, I need to add a dialog that inputs a couple options from the user. I hadn't done that before with a Wix installer, so I've been having to figure out how to do that, as well as use the values from the dialog.

For another one of my recent tasks, I may have to look at the source code for one of the in-house tools though. And that particular tool is deprecated, so I've had to make a special request for access to it (which hasn't been granted yet).
