It's certainly been quiet on DeveloperNet recently, hope you're all well. Here's my contribution to try to jumpstart some activity:

You can see it in action, below! :) It's using my compilation of ST:TNG quotes, included in the source archive but you can of course, use any/make your own fortunes to suit. The documentation includes an example of how to

Thanks for sharing. :) I've downloaded the source code, and I'll check it out. Also, why only source code and no binaries?

use it with Nightfox's excellent FSE, SlyEdit.

    :) Thanks for the mention.
One thing I've been considering adding to SlyEdit is tag lines, allowing the user to (optionally) choose a tag line upon saving a message from a list of tag lines, similar to what DCT Edit (and maybe IceEdit?) used to do.

The next release of SlyEdit will include configuration options for SlyEdit.cfg to load scripts on startup and execute additional JavaScript commands on startup to support mods like this without having to edit the SlyEdit source code. Same with exit scripts & commands as well. I've already made the modifications to SlyEdit on my board. I'm still working on another improvement in SlyEdit (the ability to wrap quote lines to preserve the text while still making them look good) in my spare time, and I want to wait until that's done (or done enough) before releasing the next version of SlyEdit.

    Hey NF,

use it with Nightfox's excellent FSE, SlyEdit.
    :) Thanks for the mention.
A pleasure. I've always preferred SlyEdit to other editors, has a great look and feel.

One thing I've been considering adding to SlyEdit is tag lines, allowing the user to (optionally) choose a tag line upon saving a message from a list of lines, similar to what DCT Edit (and maybe IceEdit?) used to do.
I think this would be a great feature to have. There is some overlap as to what desafortunadamente does, however not everyone needs/wants random fortune quotes such as desaforunadamente--I'd imagine most people would just want maybe a handful of personal taglines that they can choose from.

    Kind regards,

Yeah, if I do end up adding support for tag lines in SlyEdit, a sysop can always decide if they want to use that or Desafortunadamente.
